| Ian Welsh Senior Lecturer in Sociology, School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University. Academically I have worked in the area of environmental and social change for twenty five years. Over this time I have specialised in nuclear issues, road protests, risk, and social movements. My published work includes Mobilising Modernity:The Nuclear Moment (Routledge, 2000) and Environment and Society in Eastern Europe (ed. with Dr. A. Tickle, Longman 1998). During this time I have convened non-violent direct action training events, produced consultancy documents for a range of organisations including trades unions and tv production units and undertaken speaking engagements on behalf of a wide range of campaigning organisations. I currently work on xenotransplantation and global social movements. |
